O*NET Supplemental Files

The Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET) Database underges periodic revisions to include new information gathered through the O*NET Data Collection Program.  Another series of O*NET-related files also are revised from time to time.  Supplemental files contain information about O*NET occupations that lies outside the content model and is not updated as part of the core database.  Crosswalk files relate O*NET occupations to those from other classifications and to training programs.  They are frequently developed by or in cooperation with agencies responsible for those classifications. 
 
A number of supplemental files are available for use with the O*NET-SOC 2006, O*NET-SOC 2009 and O*NET-SOC 2010 taxonomies.  The NCSC distributes a variety of these files, sorted by the taxonomy that's used:

NCSC News

Tools and Technology Update:  The National O*NET Center has released an update to their Tools and Technology (T2) database.  This database links over 47,000 tools and technologies to O*NET occupations.  You can read their information about the database here.

O*NET Supplemental Files:  The National O*NET Center has released a new related occupations database that's been completely revised using a new methodology.  The database now contains separate listings for those beginning their careers and those changing careers.  You can also read about how the new data were generated. NCSC Annual Report:  The National Crosswalk Service Center has recently completed a report on its activities for the year that ended June 30, 2012.  The document is available for viewing on the NCSC's Annual Reports page. (12/04/12)

New Crosswalk: The National Research Center for Career and Technical Education (NRCCTE) has completed their Crosswalk Validation Project.  This project updated earlier work that links programs to occupations with an eye towards promoting greater consistency and clarity to postsecondary education data collection and reporting. (11/27/12)
