O*NET 18.0

The Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET) Database has undergone a number of revisions since it s introduction in October 1998.  For a history of the database updates, visit the O*NET Center's production database page .  Version 18.0 was released as a development database in July 2013 and went into production status in O*NET Online and other online applications in the September of 2013.

  • Released: July 2013
  • Updates
    • Comprehensive (Task Statement Ratings, Abilities, Skills, Work Activities, Knowledge, Work Context, Training and Work Experience, Education and Work Styles) update of 105 occupations
    • Addition and update of Interests data for 83 occupations
  • NOTE:  Database contents and related documentation were updated on 1/10/14 to reflect a table name change from ABILITY to ABILITIES introduced in Version 9.0 of the O*NET Database.  Changes were made to the FoxPro version of the database.
  • Structure Changes:

New Prototype Table and Content: Two new items on the WID Non-standard Tables Page: poverty estimates and poverty rates, and state tax collections.

New Employment ProjectionsOn December 8th, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released their employment estimates and projections for 2014-2024.  The NCSC has reformatted the contents for use in the Workforce Information Database.  You can review the contents of that directory, view a structure document for the data or download the database containing the projections.

O*NET Database Expanded: Version 20.1 of the O*NET Database has been released.  This version includes a number of tables that were formerly available as supplemental files.  See our O*NET 20.1 page for more information.

New IPEDS Content for WID Tables: The NCSC has formatted 2014 IPEDS content for use in the WID PROGRAMS, PROGCOMP, SCHOOLS and SUPPLY Tables.  Check out the readme.txt file, read the file structure document, or download the complete database.  Those who desire specific extracts for their state should contact the NCSC.
