The Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET) Database has undergone a number of revisions since it s introduction in October 1998.  For a history of the database updates, visit the O*NET Center's production database page  .

  • Released: July 2009
  • Updates
    • Comprehensive update of 117 occupations
    • Release of updated O*NET taxonomy: O*NET-SOC 2009
    • Addition of 153 New and Emerging Occupations
    • June 2010 -- updated contents of the military and apprenticeship crosswalk tables.  Apprenticeship occupations are now referred to as RAPIDS (Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Data System), and table and variable names have been changed to reflect that. Those updates are also included in O*NET-SOC 2009 crosswalk files found on our O*NET Supplemental Files page .
  • Structure Changes:  
    • Tasks no longer included as a separate table
