* At the initial screen, under Table, select “Building Permits” and select applicable state. Click OK. Select state data or applicable county data, then click OK. Select an item, observing description under “Item”. Scroll down or up to your desired item. Click the “browse” button to view data. Choose “exit” when finished.

Note: Many counties do not report Building Permit information on a quarterly basis. For this reason, the data may not meet Census Bureau standards for posting on its website. However, State LMI shops may acquire annual data in delimited format by calling (301) 457-1321.

* At initial screen under “Select a Summary Level” choose US, State or County. Depending on choice, proceed to screen with the following options: Occupational Data-Single Occupation, Occupational Data-Browse Group of Occupations, Educational Attainment Data, Occupational Data-Group Totals. By selecting Occupational Data-Single you can narrow your selection down to the specific 3 digit census code, divided by gender.
