New O*NET Resources...The National O*NET Center has released a development edition of Version 13.0 of the O*NET Database and a revised set of emerging tasks. See the center's news page for more information. You'll find links to NCSC databases that contain the new version at the center's new O*NET 13 page. Military Crosswalk Revised...The Defense Manpower Data Center has released an update to its crosswalk file. This resource links military occupations from the O*NET and Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) taxonomies. You can read the NCSC description of the file's contents or download the file from the NCSC server. (04/29/08)
Employment Projections, OOH and more new resources...The Bureau of Labor Statistics has recently released their 2006-2016 occupational employment projections. They also released their Occupational Projections and Training Data (OPTD) file that contains educational levels and other characteristics of the occupations from the projections. The NCSC has created database versions of the resources. We've also created a description of the files available for downloading. A very popular resource related to the projections is the Occupational Outlook Handbook, which has just been published on the BLS web site (12/18/07)
Tools and Technology Updated...The National O*NET Center has released an update to their tools and technology database and added a tools and technology search feature to their O*NET Online web site. You can read the O*NET Center's information about the revision, use their new online search or visit the NCSC's O*NET 12.0 page for links to downloadable files and other information. (11/02/07)
Military-Civilian Crosswalk Updated...The Defense Manpower Data Center has released an updated crosswalk file linking military occupations to their civilian counterparts in the SOC and O*NET classifications. You can review a listing of the variables found in the file or download an archive file that contains the crosswalk in an MS Access table. (09/25/07)
New O*NET Database Online...The National O*NET Center has placed Version 12.0 of the O*NET Database into production in their online systems, including O*NET Online. Visit the O*NET Center's O*NET 12.0 web page for more information. The O*NET 12.0 database in a variety of database formats is available for downloading from our O*NET 12.0 page. (09/25/07)
New O*NET Lay Titles Files...The National O*NET Center has released a file that links common occupational titles to occupations found in the O*NET Database and the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC). Well over 39,000 common titles are included. We've added links to the files on our O*NET 11 page. You can also view information and download files from the O*NET Center's Developer's Corner. New O*NET Emerging Tasks Table...Along with the release of the O*NET 12.0 Development Database, the National O*NET Center released a revision to their table that contains emerging and evolving tasks for O*NET occupations. The NCSC has reorganized the content of both the O*NET 11.0 and O*NET 12.0 web pages. You'll find a link to the emerging tasks tables on the O*NET 11.0 page. (06/21/07)
New O*NET Database Available...The National O*NET Center has released Version 12.0 of the O*NET database as a development release. New Military Crosswalk Available...The NCSC has added the Defense Manpower Data Center's November 2006 military-to-civilian crosswalk file to it's server. You can read a brief description of the file contents or download an MS Access version. (03/23/07)

NCSC Annual Activity Reports...The NCSC has published reports on its activities for the years ending June 30, 2005 and June 30, 2006. The reports include counts of file downloads, lists of the top files downloaded, an analysis of types of files downloaded and the different types of customers the center serves. The reports are available in both HTML and PDF formats from our reports page. (03/06/07)
