O*NET 3.1 Database...We've created MS Access and Visual FoxPro versions of the O*NET 3.1 database. The MS Access database results from a fairly simple import of the source O*NET text files. The Visual FoxPro versions has been reconfigured to a more normalized database. (8/16/01)

O*NET 3.1 Files...On June 29, the National O*NET Consortium released the O*NET 3.1 database. New SOC Files... We've developed a pair of new files which link the Standard Occupational Classification System (SOC) occupations to those from the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT). These files, based on information in the O*NET 3.1 database, contain links to 12,814 DOT occupations. Earlier versions of this crosswalk, based on the O*NET 3.0 database, contained SOC links for 9,480 DOT occupations. Look for the file DOTSOC31.DBF here for links to the 1998 SOC, and look here for a file with links to the 2000 SOC. Watch this space for news as more files based on the O*NET 3.1 database become available from the NCSC. (7/23/01)

So long, noicc.gov... When NOICC went out of business last year, you would expect that the agency's home page would eventually follow suit. All content has been removed from the noicc.gov web site, and the address will stop functioning after 5/31/01. We suggest you monitor the home page of the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, which is responsible for many of NOICC's career guidance activities. (5/9/01)
